Call for Papers 2023

Room N I 16, N building (1 Politehnicii street), Transilvania University of Brasov
It is our great pleasure to invite you to 2023 hybrid edition of "Children of the Night International Dracula Congress”. The congress will be held on October 27th-30th, 2023 in Brașov, Romania and will be hosted by Transilvania University of Brasov. Simultaneously, we will be holding an online part of the congress on Zoom.
We are planning 3 full days of academic speeches (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), with a walking tour of Brașov, some evening attractions, and one-day trip to Bran Castle (Monday) for those who decide to participate in person.
Additionally, on October 25th-29th, International Dracula Film Festival is taking place in Brașov, and the Congress participants will be able to join at least some of the festival’s events.
We invite all persons who are interested in speaking at the 2023 conference to submit an abstract of 150 - max. 250 words plus a meaningful title indicating the planned content of your presentation. The official language of the conference is English; papers will be accepted and presented only in English. The abstracts must be submitted by email and fit the conference main topics (have a look at the slider with all 8 workshops).
Also, remember to dust your Vampire/Dracula/Gothic costume for our annual Costume Contest (personal and online participation allowed!).

Indication of interest
If you are interested to speak at the conference but have no abstract ready yet, please send us a short email, so that we have you on our radar. The earlier we know who would like to participate in the conference, the better we can plan it.
Abstract deadline
Abstracts must be submitted before 15th September 2023. Please use the Abstract Submission Form below.
Approval
All submitted abstracts are subject to approval by our Scientific Committee. Review will take place continuously and may take 2 weeks (longer in the summertime).
Conference fee
50 euro (physical participation in Brasov)
10 euro (online participation).
Listeners join free of charge.
